It is important to wear a mask, wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and in the absence of such, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Effective, Friday, October 02, 2020 USCIS, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services will institute a new fee for the U.S. Refugee Travel Document, Form I-571 and biometrics (fingerprinting). This is also a reminder to file your new application on the new effective date with the new Form I-131 for a Refugee Travel Document, Form I-571, otherwise USCIS will reject your application and it will be returned to you.*
- FORM I-131 - Refugee Travel Document, Form I-571 | Old Fee: $135.00 | New Fee: $145.00 | Change by $10.00 | 7% Increase
- Biometrics Services (Non-DACA Only)| Old Fee: 85.00 | New Fee: $30.00 | Change by -$55.00 | -$65.00 Decrease
TOTAL NEW FEE: Application for the U.S. Refugee Travel Document, (Form I-571)filed on FORM I-131, APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT is now $145.00 & BIOMERTIC FEE IS $30 = $175.00 USD.
MAJOR IMPORTANT CHANGE TO NOTE:
The bundling of interim benefits when Form I-765 and Form I-131 are filed concurrently with a pending FORM I-485 will be discontinued effective Friday, October 02, 2020. The Department of Homeland Security, DHS will now require effective the above mentioned date separate fees for FORM I-765 and FORM 1-131 when filed concurrently with the FORM I-485 or when a FORM I-485 is pending.
The Recommendation Corner: If you have a pending Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, and you are an asylee, apply for a new U.S. Refugee Travel Document, Form I-571 before the new separate filing fees become the new law effective, Friday, October 02, 2020, you are welcome to apply for such a benefit if you are eligible.
