Most people will need either a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada - but not both.
You don't need a visa or an eTA. However, to get to Canada by car, train, bus or boat, you must bring valid proof of your U.S. lawful permanent resident status (such as a Green Card.*
Please note: If your travel plans change, you do need an eTA and your U.S. Refugee Travel Document (Form I-571)if you decide to fly to a Canadian airport instead.
