CONFIRMED: EXCESSIVE DELAYS AT USCIS IN PROCESSING NEW APPLICATIONS AT LOCKBOXES. (PERSONAL EXPERIENCE) πŸŒΏπŸ›‚

USCIS, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services is experiencing a massive backlog in processing New Applications filed with the service as a result of the Coronavirus Outbreak and the massive increase in application submission. 


I filed a NEW application for a US Refugee Travel Document, Form I-571 on Form I-131, APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT and it arrived on October 2020 and was processed on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 as my credit card was charged and I am now awaiting the receipt notice in the mail. 


Once I receive the Notice of Action, FORM I-797 C and the Notice of Fingerprint I will update you here. This is a reminder to always apply 90 days early to avoid major delays at USCIS. Happy Filing! πŸ₯³πŸ›‚

ASYLEES AND THE RIGHT TO WORK!

If you are an ASYLEE (ASYLUM GRANTED) , you do NOT   require an EAD, Employment Authorization Document to work in the United States.  Let's discuss the law, In the HANDBOOK FOR EMPLOYERS M-274 on USCIS, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website SECTION 6.3 REFUGEES AND ASYLEES.  Refugees and asylees are AUTHORIZED   to work indefinitely because of their immigration status does not expire.  After being granted ASYLUM in the United States, The Department of Homeland Security issues a FORM I-94, ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE RECORD , to asylees. FORM I-94 will contain a stamp or natation such as "ASYLUM GRANTED INDEFINITELY" or the appropriate provision of the law (8 CFR 274.a.12(a)(5) or INA 208) to show their employment authorization. U.S. REFUGEE TRAVEL DOCUMENT WITH NEW ENHANCED SECURITY FEATURES To prevent secure document tampering, counterfeiting, and fraud, The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin producing a new security-enhanced U.S. Refugee Travel Document effective October 24, 2019.
