WHAT IS SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION? Registration is a way the Government of the United States keeps a list of names of men from which to draw in case of a national emergency requiring rapid expansion of our Armed Forces. By registering all young men, Selective Service ensures that a future draft will be fair and equitable.  All males in the United States between 18 and 26 years of age are required to register for the draft. Asylees who wish to travel outside of the United States of America should make certain they don't have a criminal record and that they have the correct travel documents to depart and return to the United States. Asylees travelling abroad should bear the following in mind:  - DO NOT RETURN TO THE COUNTRY FROM WHICH YOU WON ASYLUM. APPLYING FOR A REFUGEE TRAVEL DOCUMENT (UNITED STATES)  If you want to travel internationally, You will need a passport. Asylum is a permanent once granted. However, asylum status can be taken away.   Asylum status is a path to U.S. Citizenship.  As an asylee you are authorized to work in the United States. As an asylee you may be able to travel abroad.  Under U.S. federal immigration law, you are required to report any change of address to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) within ten (10) days of changing the address. You notify the DHS by filing the Form AR-11, which you can submit online or by mail. You are obligated to comply with this requirement until you become a naturalized United States Citizen.
